Why should I rotate my Tires?
One of the biggest causes of premature tire wear is because the tires are not rotated.  You should have this done every 6,000 miles (or every other oil change).

Do I really need to replace my timing belt at recommended intervals?
Absolutely.  It can actually end up costing you more, in the long run, not to replace it.  In many cars today, the failure of a timing belt can cause major engine damage.  The cost of repairing an engine is much greater then the cost of replacing the timing belt.

Why has my “Check Engine” or “Service Engine Soon” light come on?
This is an indication that one of the many sensors or computerized components is not functioning properly and needs to be looked at.  A lot of the time you may not notice a difference in performance,  but you should still have the car looked at to prevent a much greater problem down the road.

If my car starts to overheat what should I do?
You should find a safe place to pull off the road and shut the car off as soon as possible.  This is an extremely serious issue that can cause major damage to engine (the longer you drive a car that is over heated the better your chances are of damaging the engine).  DO NOT TRY TO ADD OR CHECK THE COOLANT.   When a vehicle is running or has recently been running its coolant system creates an extreme amount of pressure.  Opening this system at any point can result in severe burns or injury.

How often should I change my oil?
You should check your vehicle's owner's manual.  But the average is every 3,000 miles

Why is my motor oil a creamy brown instead of black?
There is a foreign substance in the oil, such as coolant.  This can be caused by several things: one or more of the engine's gaskets may need to be replaced,  your transmission cooler could be failing, or you could have a cracked casing.  All of these are serious and should be checked by a trained technician as soon as possible.

How can I be sure that my car battery has good connections?
Both the battery cables and terminals should be checked and cleaned to ensure they are getting a good connection.  If the cables are able to move on the terminal,  then they are most likely not getting a good connection.

Should I be using Synthetic Motor Oil?
Synthetic Motor Oil is mostly used on high output (turbo charged or supercharged engines), vehicles used for towing (especially in extreme heat), or vehicles used in extreme temperatures (hot or cold).  Synthetic Motor Oil is much more expensive then mineral based oil, however it can improve fuel economy, increase intervals between oil changes, and provide instant lubrication on start up.

How often should I be replacing my Fuel Filter?
Check your “Owner's Manual”  for recommended intervals, but on average it is about every 30,000 miles.

How often should I replace my spark plugs?
They should be replaced every 30 months or 30,000 miles for peak performance and maximum fuel economy.  There are some spark plugs that can go longer without being replaced.  Our trained staff can help you determine which you have.

What do I need to know to replace a burned out fuse?
Printed on the fuse is the amperage of the fuse.  You must use a fuse of the same amperage, if it is to low it may just blow again and if it's to high you could cause damage to one of the electronic components in your vehicle.  If you are using the correct amperage fuse and it keeps blowing regularly this is a sign of a bigger issue and should be checked out quickly.
